Breastfeeding Jackson

I guess I will start by saying I had a terrible time breastfeeding my first son Jeremiah. He had acid reflux and was a serious projectile vomit-er, he went a long time without gaining any weight at all. I tried my absolute hardest to breastfeed him and it just didn't work out, I barely made any milk and didn't have a clue as to what I was doing. So when I found out that I was pregnant with Jackson I decided that I was going to do everything in my power to make breastfeeding work for me and him. My husbands grandmother had no faith in me what so ever she was insistent on the fact that it was not going to work this time since it didn't work out last time. She even told me that I failed last time so I would for sure fail this time and that she was not going to allow me to starve another child to death or nearly to death. It even went as far as she bought formula in advance for me and everything and gave it to me saying you know your going to need this so take it so you have it, I told her that I had faith in myself that everything was going to work and that I was by no means going to need formula for my baby. I can proudly say that I did not need formula my Jackson was born weighing 6 lbs 4 ozs and left the hospital weighing 5 lbs 9 ozs (because he swallowed amniotic fluid and had no room for food). He now weighs 14 lbs 4ozs, he gained 2 lbs 8 ozs in less then a month. I have not had to supplement at all and he has gained that much on breast milk only in less then 2 1/2 months. So I guess you could say I proved her wrong and proved to myself that I could do it without a single problem. I'm one proud mommy.
