Breastfeeding Laws

I have always been self-conscious of breastfeeding in public because of what others may say to me. Whenever I was out with my daughter during her breastfeeding period I would always panic and look for the nearest bathroom or private place to feed her. Now that my second child will be born any week now, I am curious to know if there are any places that I legally cannot breastfeed. Are there any states that happen to forbid breastfeeding in public? I feel a bit more comfortable as a mother to breastfeed in public of course with a cover up but was just curious if there are any places I should be cautious about. Thanks so much for your response!
Answer from the lactation consultant Whip it out girl! A baby needs to eat, just like we do. And do you eat the bathroom? No, I dont think so. If you are especially modest, use a cover. I have several for sale on my website, and I even have a free pattern to make on on the freebies page.
Anyway. I wrote an article last year on the website that adresses this, and I looked up Nevada and anywhere you are allowed to be, you are allowed to nurse and protected by law. There are no restrictions, in your state. If you would like to view the page, just click on the blue link that says legislation and it will take you to the site that has specific info for each state.
