First Time for Everything
I had my first child at the age of 18. I was still in highschool, and didn't have a clue about raising a newborn...let alone breastfeeding. At first I was really scared because I was afraid it would hurt and my nipples kept cracking. After a few days, I found it much easier to use the pump instead of allowing him to actually latch on. It worked wonders for me! It took away all the pressure and pain I was having in my breasts.
The only issue I really ever had was leaking all the time. I tried several different pads and none of them seemed to really help keep me from leaking through clothes. That became a little embarrassing at times, but didn't last long. I was only able to breastfeed my son for four months. For some reason, I stopped producing milk at that time. Breastfeeding saved me alot of time and money during the beginning of my child's stages of life.
