Give Breastfeeding a try

I had my first child back in 1996, which seems like an entire lifetime ago! I did not breastfeed back then because I was very young and unsure of myself - I was also, it seems, encouraged to use formula.
Flash forward to today, 15 years later and I just had my second child! I am not entirely sure what possessed me to have another when I was almost home free with the first one, but I will tell you that I wouldn't swap either of them for the world!
This time around I was more aware of myself as a person and much more enlightened with the correct information on breastfeeding - I also felt encouraged to do so too, which was a big turnaround from before! Subsequently, I decided to give it a try!
Now, here I am 6 weeks later and breastfeeding is going extremely well! It was strange at first and tiring but the benefits outweigh anything I could ever find negative about it, which isn't much at all!
It has really been a wonderful experience for me, as I never was too sure if I could do it, but I am so glad that I did. I would encourage any new mother to give it a try and really hang in there for a little while and see where it takes you!
I do love that I don't spend thousands of dollars on formula and there are no bottles to wash! It is all right there like a walking buffet!! :)
I would also like to add though that if you try it and it isn't for you, don't feel sad or discouraged! Formula is there for a reason and it never did my son any harm :)
