Answer from the lactation consultantIf your baby is 7 months, it is likely one of three things: a growth spurt (which will resolve on its own in a few days), a nursing strike (which will also resolve in a few days) or hormonal changes in you (which you can follow up with your doctor to find out). The other two things that come to mind is : possible pregnancy and if you are pumping ONLY and not putting baby to breast, that could be it. Pumps do not empty or stimulate like a baby does.
If you are nursing the baby THEN pumping, I do not expect anything to come out, by 7 months, he should be very efficient at emptying you. And if he is wanting to feed very frequently, have you considered that it is not your supply that it could be teething, ear infection, throat infection or other illness? Have his doctor look over him as well.
If all the above has been ruled out, then find a local lactation consultant for a personal consultation.
