All this being said, I am in TOTAL support of moms who want to openly nurse. I don't eat with a blanket on my head, so why should a baby have to! The options are many but the two most common styles are the types with boning in the top hem ,to allow for easy viewing of baby during breastfeeding sessions, (as seen in photo) or the shawls which can double as a blouse/top. Is a breastfeeding cover mandatory? Absolutely not. You can use nothing, most states allow for breastfeeding in public, with protection for mom. And there is no requirement for covers.
