Only want to pump for a couple of weeks

I would like to give my baby some of the benefits of breastmilk in the first couple of weeks of life but plan to exclusively formula feed after the first few weeks. Since I would like to feed with breast milk for such a short period of time I prefer to pump and I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for the best way to do this. I know the first couple of days you only produce colostrum (which I've heard can be difficult to pump) and I'm wondering if I only pump a few times per day if i would produce enough to last a couple of weeks (with formula supplement) or if I would have to pump every couple of hours even though I really wouldn't be trying to "establish a supply".

Note from the lactation consultant
You pretty much answered your own question. You make what you empty, so if you are not trying to establish a supply or provide 100% breastmilk then just pump how ever often you want and feed that milk. My only suggestion is stay on a routine. So, every 6,8, 12 hours whatever. What will not work is pumping 2-3 times during the day and then sleeping all night, you must be on a routine. Example 8am, 2pm, 8pm, 2am or 7am and 7pm or whatever. Be consistent.
Probably the best advice is to make sure you buy a good pump.
