Trying Breastfeeding Again

by Christa

I am now due with my third baby. We were young when I had our daughter and no one ever educated me on breastfeeding so I bottle fed her. Then 2 years later we had our son, still with no information on breastfeeding I had decided that it was something I wanted to try. My son had an excellent latch and I enjoyed this new experience. That is until I realized something had to be wrong I was in pain and even the lactation consultants from the hospital were no help. So I continued trying to breastfeed until I realized he must not be latching on properly and I was in so much pain, without any help or advice on how to correct this I stopped and started pumping. My supply didn't last as long as I had hoped so he ended up a formula baby also. Now that 5 more years have passed and our little girl is on her way I am educating myself as much as possible, getting any information I possibly can and making sure that I know what to expect. I am really wanting it to work this time and I am really wanting to stick it out and only breastfeed, no bottles. I'm hoping and praying that I can do it!
